Who hasn’t uttered the words ‘I have nothing to wear’ in the morning? We’ve all been there. We’re ready to dash out the door, but find ourselves standing in our underwear looking at a full closet of clothing, feeling flustered about what to put on. Outfit options run through our minds, but it’s usually the same ones we wore a couple days ago or even last week. Am I right?
The truth is, most of us only use about 20% of our closets 80% of the time. The rest is left as a sea of fabric to stare at. It’s not that we don’t want to utilize the rest of our clothing, but sometimes, we simply don’t know what to do with it, or often can’t remember an outfit combination we put together ages ago.
How do we fix this problem? While magazines are wonderful for fashion inspiration, the reality is that we don’t have those exact clothing items hanging currently in our closet. We do, however, have the means to create a little closet inspiration on our own by making our own look book filled with outfit options for ourselves.
A look book is essentially photo album of outfit options currently available in your wardrobe. It’s a great tool to ensure that we not only utilize our closets in full, but it also aides us on busy mornings when we aren’t sure what to put together. We can easily flip through our own fashion inspiration and, voila! We’ve selected an outfit for the day. You can now have Cher’s closet from Clueless.
